Manchester United youngster returns to first team training as loan terminates

Teden Mengi is training with Manchester United’s first team squad after ending his time at Birmingham City. The 20-year-old is back in the fold at Carrington as he works his way back to full fitness.

Mengi’s loan time with Blues was cut short by a hamstring injury sustained against Middlesbrough in mid-March. It was his second such set-back to what had started out as a promising spell at St Andrew’s – the first initially occurring at Bournemouth in February.

Mengi went back to United to rehabilitate and has now returned to the senior set-up at Old Trafford, too soon to feature for Blues in their final match of the season against Blackburn this weekend. A statement on the Red Devils’ website confirmed: “Teden is integrating back into first-team training but, unfortunately, will not be ready in time for Blues' final match.
