Chelsea manager Graham Potter will be in line for the biggest financial pay-off in football history if he is sacked by concerned Stamford Bridge chiefs.

Potter oversaw another night of disappointment as his expensively assembled Chelsea side drew a blank in a 0-0 stalemate that further dented the Blues hopes of a top four finish.

Just 22 games into his reign as Chelsea manager, Potter admits he is already feeling the pressure having won just nine matches and produced a win rate of a woeful 40.9 per-cent.

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly confirmed he is ready to axe misfiring managers when he sacked Champions League winning boss Thomas Tuchel last September.

Yet there are already doubts over whether Potter can play the fantasy football game he is being asked to play after Boehly sanctioned nearly £600million of transfer spending since his arrival at the club last year.

Potter's success has come building long-term projects with modest resources and that demands very different skills than those he is being asked to display dealing with superstar players at Chelsea.
