Chelsea have finalized the season-long loan signing of Saul Niguez from Atletico Madrid.

The Blues were hoping to complete two deals on deadline day: Jules Kounde from Sevilla and Saul from Atletico Madrid. The latter has been accomplished.

According to Sky Sports, the midfielder will spend the balance of the 2021/22 season at Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea having the option to make his stay permanent for a fee of roughly £30 million.

Atletico had intended to include a clause requiring the Blues to sign the Spaniard next summer, but it's believed that would have put an end to the European champions' interest in the 26-year-old.
