Requests for interviews with Joel Glazer were sent to Manchester United but were turned down. Glazer endured 16 years without speaking with United fans, and the strong support for the Super League in April was the only thing that broke his quiet.

Glazer has been more transparent in Florida, where he and his five siblings own the Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Last year, after the Super Bowl victory, he dialed into a Zoom conversation with reporters, whereas in Manchester, the United media department is often battling as many fires as 10 Downing Street, and access is limited to mandatory Zooms with interim manager Ralf Rangnick.
