Manchester United: Roy Keane reveals he didn't get Wayne Rooney and Rio Ferdinand's 'banter'

Manchester United legend Roy Keane has alleged that he had a strained relationship with Wayne Rooney and Rio Ferdinand during his time at the club.

Keane is regarded as one of the greatest players and captains in club history, having led the team to 13 major championships during his tenure.

Despite his unstoppable success on the field with his teammates, Keane has alleged that he had a strained relationship with several off-field colleagues in his later years.

After a falling out with Sir Alex Ferguson over the latter's harsh criticism of some players during the Red Devils' 4-1 defeat at Middlesbrough on October 29, 2005, the 50-year-old left the club acrimoniously on November 18, 2005.

Towards the end of his time at United, Keane admitted that he 'didn't get' the younger players coming through the ranks, such as Ferdinand and Rooney.

'At the conclusion, I remember thinking that I don't understand some of the concepts.'
